The self-care habit is a journey into self-care, self-love and self-development for the body mind and soul. The aim of this blog is to teach what I learn and learn what I teach.  I believe my purpose is to inspire others to look after themselves through self-care, self-love and self-development.

Anyone else ever think mistakes are a bad thing?  Well they are actually how we learn.  Personally I usually make every mistake in the book before I learn the lesson.  Did you know  penicillan was discovered through a mistake made.

I no longer call them mistakes, I call them ‘rookie errors’.  Then learn from them.

What are my values?

Our values are what we believe to be most important in our life and work.  Our values are part of who we are and who we want to be.  Sometimes in life we have to decide on what we value most.  When I had my daughter I made a decision between time and money.  I decided to work less in order to spend more time with my daughter.  By becoming more aware of our values we can use them as our guide to point us in the right direction make the best decisions.

  1. Health, for me personally I took my health for granted, until I no longer had it.  It was through ill health that I realised the importance of self-care and looking after not only my physical body but my mind as well.  I was not happy when I was not healthy and that I why health is my top value.
  2. Time, I value time, time with family and friends and time with myself.  We cannot get back time that has passed, but we can me mindful of how we spend our time now.
  3. Laughter/happiness, I want to spend my time laughing, because laughing makes me happy.
  4. Learning/teaching, I love learning and believe that is what we are here to do.  I want to teach others what I am learning.

What am I practising now

I am always learning and I love to learn new things. You could spend a lifetime just learning, but what if you put what you are learning into practice? I am practicing Self-Care and making Self-Care a Habit. This includes, meditation, tapping, gentle exercise, hot baths, cold showers, drinking more, eating healthier. Resting more.

Inspirational quotes

Quotes help me understand what I am learning and express my understanding in my own words

“A quitter never wins-and-a winner never quits”

Napoleon Hill

Our beliefs shape our thoughts, feelings, actions and ultimately our results.  I believe we are all here to learn lessons.  I believe if we do not learn the lessons in this life, we come straight back to earth until the lessons are learned.  I believe that when we learn the lessons this time round, we get to go to fairyland, where summer never ends and the moon is always full.  My quotes and the quotes I share are what I truly believe.  I want to help others believe in magic and themselves.

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new”

Albert Einstein

It doesn’t have to be perfect, we don’t have to be perfect. We just need to try.”

It really can be as simple as that. No need to complicate it.
