About me
Hi, I’m Debbie-Ann. My workshops are inspired by my writings in ‘Make Self-Care A Habit’ And my own journey through burnout. I know how overwhelming life can feel, and my intention is simple: To practice what I preach and help others ‘make Self-Care a habit’ through small achievable steps.
My sessions focus on practical tools and gentle practices so that self-care becomes a natural part of your everyday life – because taking care of yourself is not selfish, it’s essential.

In a world where life often feels busier than ever, I am a woman on a mission to remind people that looking after themselves is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.
I’m passionate about helping people build simple, realistic self-care habits that fit into daily life. Through my guided journal, workshops and community sessions, I’m encouraging people to take small steps towards better mental and emotional wellbeing.
Unlike the picture-perfect versions of self-care often seen on social media, I believe self-care is about creating simple daily habits that anyone can do.
Self-Care can be as simple as taking a walk on the beach, practising gratitude, reading a few pages of a book, spending five minutes meditating or simply giving yourself permission to rest, It’s about creating small habits that, over time, make a big difference.
My passion comes from personal experience.
After living with Ulcerative Colitis since 2010 I discovered first hand how closely stress and wellbeing are connected. While self-care is not a cure, I found that making it part of my daily routine helped me cope better with the challenges of living with a long-term health condition.
Rather than keeping those lessons to myself, I decided to help others.
That journey led to the creation of ‘Make Self-Care A Habit’ A guided journal, a practical journal designed to help people slow down, reflect and build positive habits one day at a time. Filled with prompts, exercises and gentle encouragement, the journal is suitable whether someone is completely new to self-care or simply wants to be more intentional about making time for themselves.
The sessions cover topics including, meditation, gratitude, journaling, relaxation techniques, healthy habits and goal setting, giving participants simple tools they can use to continue practising long after the session had finished. Its about making small changes that help you feel calmer, happier and more resilient in everyday life.
The workshops are open to adults of all ages, locals and tourists, no experience is needed. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, wants to prioritise their wellbeing or simply enjoys meeting like minded people, everyone is welcome.
I also offer private group sessions for friends, workplaces, community groups and wellbeing events, making my workshops ideal for team building days, woman’s groups and special occasions.
Living on Arran has played a significant role in shaping my philosophy. Surrounded by beaches, forests and breath-taking scenery, I believe nature itself is one of the lifes greatest resources and encourage people to reconnect with the outdoors as part of their self-care routine.
My message is simple but powerful: Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive or time consuming. By making it a habit rather than an afterthought, everyone can invest in their own wellbeing.
For anyone looking to begin that journey, I hope the journal and workshops will provide the encouragement they need to take that first step.
Sunday Summer sessions are running now till the end of August at Heather Lodge in Brodick 6-7pm Sundays.
